How to add a SSL certificate to a w3shop

SSL certificates should be used on any sites that are having data transfer, data capture or financial or personal information entered. SSL certificates also assist with SEO as google likes sites with them present as it makes them more trusted

1) Go to Workgroup > Customers > Categories & Microsites > yourw3pshop

Once the w3p category with a microsite has a Main Domain, the SSL certificate line will change from:

to

2) The button will create a subscription for the marketing account of the workgroup the category is held within.

3) Save the subscription, this will store the subscription creator and linked w3pshop Category.

4) We'll get a job notification once the subscription processes. We will then complete the SSL installation for you.

This will normally be completed the next morning and the site will automatically start using SSL.

Mixed content warnings

When a site is converted to use SSL, we will update all pages to use the https version

You should update google webmaster tools to say we're using https

Also check all the static pages and make sure there's no orange padlock

If there is there will either be an image or a header snippet that is loading content over http
You'll need to remove that or update the link to a https equivalent

We load almost all images over a CDN that is https so this is unlikely, but you should make sure it doesn't affect your site.
