It is now possible to register domains from within Flyerlink, that can be used on w3shops, Brambl websites and Nettl websites.

Once the domains are registered, you will be able to auto-configure the DNS settings for Brambl and Nettl websites, or you can manually add extra DNS settings such as MX records for emails or TXT records required by some third party services to run on your website.

Registering a domain

To register a new domain, head to Workgroup > Websites > Buy Domain/SSL

Search for the domain you want.
You can enter "yourdomain.com" if you know the exact domain you want, or use "yourdomain" to find alternative domain suggestions

If the domain is available, you'll be able to press the Buy now > button.

Choose the customer your domain is for and we'll prefil the registration details with your client's contact information.
You can change these to another contact of your customer, or adjust them yourself.

If you want different Technical, Billing or Administrator details, tick Enter different billing, technical, and admin details.

Choose the number of years you want to register the domain for.
The longer a domain is registered, the more trustworthy Google treats the domain, so having a longer domain registration provides some SEO benefit.

Please note: Phone numbers will need to start with the country area code followed by a "." such as "+44." instead of "0"

Changing domain details

You can find all the domains you've registered via Workgroup > Websites > My Domains

Click through to the domain you want to edit.

Here you will be able to change the Registrant, Technical, Admin and Billing details.
Please note however that you will not be able to update these on a domain ending with .uk

Scroll down further and you'll be able to edit the DNS settings.

Adjusting the price

The price you'll see when searching is the retail price for the client to register the domain for 1 year

You can increase the markup from the domain cost via Workgroup > Admin > Workgroup Settings > View/Amend

Choose the Domain markup, add: field to add your markup

Domain renewals

We send domain renewal emails to the nettl studio that's purchased the domain and NOT to the end customer

Domain renewal reminders are sent

60 days before expiry
30 days before expiry
15 days before expiry
10 days before expiry
5 days before expiry
1 day before expiry
5 days after expiry

You can renew a domain in Flyerlink via Workgroup > Websites > My Domains

You'll see a renew domain link next to the expiry that lets you re-register the domain.

When you renew a domain for an extra year, the renewal is from the expiry date and not today's date. So if you renew a domain in June that will expire in August, the renewal will cover until next August.

If you've successfully renewed a domain, you will not be able to renew it again for another 24 hours. That's to prevent accidently adding extra years when you only meant to add one.

Re-activing domains

For most domains if the domain does expire you will have a grace period that will allow you to re-active a domain rather than let other customers register the domain.

The reactivate grace period differs depending on the TLD ( top-level domain )

For generic TLDs (.com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, etc.), you have a period of about 27 days

.co.uk, .uk or .org.uk domains do not have a re-activation grace period so much be renewed in advance of the expiry date

.COM.AU, .NET.AU, .ORG.AU, .CH, .ES, .FR, .LI, .PE, .SG, .COM.SG TLDs must be renewed 12 days prior to the actual expiration date.

Known limitations

Currently there are some known limitations with domains registered through Flyerlink. Including:

1) Domains cannot be transfered to Flyerlink (yet)
2) SSL certificates cannot be purchased (yet)
3) Domains cannot be auto-renewed
4) Nameservers cannot be changed within Flyerlink
5) Clients will not be able to edit the domain within Flyerlink, you may need to transfer to another register if they need to edit the domain.
